The majority of the funding for the Climate Principles Programme has been allocated to delivering net zero by 2030. This is due to the high costs of delivering its objectives such as retrofitting buildings and upgrading electrical infrastructure.

Most of the spend this year has been to carry out detailed feasibility studies to determine the most effective means of achieving net zero emissions.

Programme spend will increase significantly over the coming two years as we start construction projects that will enable the delivery of net zero by 2030 and complete the recruitment for other principles.
